Geographic observations
The municipality of Benalmádena is placed in the coastal strip between
the Mountain range of Mijas and the Sea of Alborán, little over than 100 km of the Strait
of Gibraltar. It displays a mountainous character that almost entering the sea, conditions
its geography. In addition, it is furrowed by streams and torrents. It is contiguous with
the municipalities of Torremolinos to the northeast, with Alhaurín de La Torre to the
north, with Mijas and Fuengirola to the east; as well as with the Mediterranean Sea to the

El Arrollo de la Miel is the intermediate zone in between of the coast and
the mountain range. This urban nucleus was born around an industrial zone where in the
18th century, six factories of paper for the elaboration of card decks were constructed,
